Loosely based on serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, the film follows Henry and his roommate Otis who Henry introduces to murdering randomly selected people. The killing spree depicted in the film starts after Otis' sister Becky comes to stay with them. The people they kill are strangers and in one particularly gruesome attack, kill all three members of a family during a home invasion. Henry lacks compassion in everything he does and isn't the kind to leave behind witnesses - of any kind.

![]() | I actually cant think of a more gritty or more realistic (un-Hollywood-ized) portrayal of a movie based on 2 real serial killers Henry Lee Lucas and Otis Toole, if this movie is indeed "sick" or disgusting i would say the director, actors and producers achieved their objectives. Michael Rooker was excellent. This is the movie that lifts the bar and sets the standard. |

![]() | lol it's a movie about Henry Lee Lucas. Tell me, were you expecting it to be a comedy? also, you're showing your age here. I've seen this movie, and it is positively tame by today's standards. |

![]() | It may have been sick and disturbing, but all that adds to how good Michael Rooker acted in the role, truly dark and menacing, it was a great film in that |

![]() | @Bloodyred, yeah Micheal Rooker was great. He always plays a fantastic Psycho. Movies about serial killers are supposed to be disgusting and appealing, that should be the aim because these people WERE disgusting and appalling. i'm not sure why Jaxe seems surprised by this small fact. |

![]() | @YellowGrenade: it was sick when I saw it in 1986 and it still is. You want to talk tame? The Silence Of The Lambs and Michael Mann's Manhunter are tame compared to this movie. |
